PrEP Clinic

PrEP (pre-exposure prophylaxis) is medication that can significantly reduce your chances of getting HIV from sexual intercourse. Although it is NOT for individuals who already have HIV, you should consider PrEP if you have a sexual partner with HIV, do not use a condom consistently, or have been diagnosed with an STI within the past 6 months.

FAQs

Does PrEP cause any major side effects?

PrEP can cause side effecdts in some people. These can include headache, dizziness, nausea, insomnia, and diarrhea. However they are generally mild and usually disappear over time.

What should I do if PrEP is right for me?

Make an appointment with your health provider or a health clinic. If they agree that PrEP can help you, then you will need to take an HIV test. You will need a negative HIV test before PrEP can be prescribed for you.
